Hi! I'm Giovanni, from Italy.
I found these awesome looking pythons in 2020 and I fell in love with the idea. After a couple of years of procastination, I decided I had to start building one. So the journey began, and I entered the planning hell phase, i.e. I started to read all the information I could find without getting anything done.
The original plan was to reuse the rear triangle of an old bike that supposedly had a damaged steering tube. So I started designing (hey atleast I learned to use CAD!) and gathering pieces. After six months of reading planning and designing I realised that the bike I wanted to use was easily fixable (and it wasn't worth it to cut in half). So I was not going to use the model I worked so much on. Too bad.
One of the things Jürgen stressed in some early messages on the mailing list, is that one should first build a terrible python, learn to weld with it, learn to ride it and only after all that one should build a serious model. Also, building is the easiest part, riding is the real challenge.
So, with some of the pieces I gathered I decided it was (finally) time to build the thing, no matter how bad it turned out. This is the page of the build: http://en.openbike.org/wiki/Trumpet
